The Present Perfect is formed with the Present simple of the verb to have + past participle of the main verb. The past participle of regular verbs is formed adding –ed to the verb.
I have worked through the park.


The Present Perfect is used:
To express a past activity that is still important in the present.
E.g.: I´ve won the lottery.

With expressions of time that indicate an incomplete period: This morning, this week, recently…..
E.g.: We haven´t seen Mark this morning.

To express an action that started in the past but is not finished yet. It is used with the prepositions for and since.
E.g.: I´ve lived in Lisbon for two years.
Sarah has studied French since2000.

It is used in the question Have you ever…?
E.g.: Have you ever been to New York?

It is used in the question How long have you…?
E.g.: How long have you lived here?



AFFIRMATIVE
I/ You / We / They have studied for half an hour.
He/ She /It has studied for half an hour.


NEGATIVE
I/You/We / They haven´t worked here.
He / She / it hasn´t worked here.


INTERROGATIVE
Have I / you / we/ they worked here long?
Has he/she /it worked here long?


SHORT ANSWERS
Have you eaten the cake?
Yes, I have. No, I haven´t
Has he arrived?
Yes, he has. No, he hasn´t


Complete the sentences with for or since:
