PRESENT SIMPLE
Uses
We use the present simple to talk about:
•things that are always true
   -The sun rises in the east.
•habits and things that happen repeatedly.
   -I play guitar on Saturdays.

Form
AFFIRMATIVE
I / you / we / they play
He / she / it plays
NEGATIVE
•we make present  simple negatives with: do / does
I/ you / we / they do not play
He / she / it   does not play
INTERROGATIVE
•we make present simple questions with: do / does
Do I/ you / we / they play?
Does he / she / it     play?

SHORT FORMS
does not = doesn´t                          
do not = don´t

HOW TO MAKE HE / SHE / IT FORMS
     most verbs :  + -s
Examples: say - says; play – plays; know – knows.
     -s, -sh , -ch, -x :  + -es
Examples: pass – passes; wash- washes; teach- teaches; mix- mixes
     exceptions: go-goes; do – does; have - has
VERBS ENDING IN -Y
     vowel + y + -s
Example : say – says
     consonant + y + -ies
Example: fly - flies

PRESENT CONTINUOUS
Uses
We use the present continuous to talk about:
 •things that are in progress now, at this moment.
   -I am working.
 •temporary actions or situations.
   -He is waiting for a bus.
AFFIRMATIVE
I am working     you are working     he/she/it is working     we / they are working
NEGATIVE
I am not working     you are not working     he/she/it is not working     we / they are not working
INTERROGATIVE
Am I working?      Are you working?         Is he/she/it working?          Are we / they working?

SHORT FORMS
I am = I’m   
You are = you’re  
He is = he’s   
She is = she’s   
It is = it’s   
We are = we’re  
They are = they’re
